Announcing the Eastern Europe Nurses’ Centre of Excellence for Tobacco Control – Developing Nurse Champions for Tobacco Dependence Treatment“ (EE-COE II)

The Society for Treatment of Tobacco Dependence (STTD) and the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC) are pleased to announce  thel "Eastern Europe Nurses’ Centre of Excellence for Tobacco Control – Developing Nurse Champions for Tobacco Dependence Treatment“ (EE-COE II.)" . This new, 2-year project will continue the efforts of the Eastern Europe Nurses’ Centre of Excellence for Tobacco Control (EE-COE)  as additional funding support has been committed by the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation. The next phase of this program will involve the five countries from the first phase of the program - Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia - and will also expand into the Republic of Moldova.

The project will be led by Iveta Nohavova and Prof. Eva Kralikova of the Society for Treatment of Tobacco Dependence (STTD) in Prague. Dr. Stella Bialous, of the University of California at San Francisco and ISNCC, will provide additional expert guidance and support. Dr. Linda Sarna, Dean, and her team at the University of California, Los Angeles will also continue to provide guidance for the project’s implementation. The partners for the project include nursing organizations, university teams and hospitals from the participating countries.
